Time Studies (Work Measurement)
Time studies are necessary to set confirmed tasks and routings. These quantify manufacturing costs that impact the profitability of the company and the individual products. We provide the expertise and labor to accurately measure these tasks either individually or at each stage of the routing. During this study we will observe each task and suggest possible improvements. Upon completion we provide your company with a concise and accurate report of the results.
Line Balancing
Line Balancing is the process of re-configuring an existing production process or manufacturing cell in order to ensure that everyone is doing the same amount of work, completing the work to the customer's requirements, no one is waiting, work is standardized and TAKT time is achieved.
Cellular Manufacturing Design
Manufacturing Cells are work units rather than an individual machine or workstation. Typically, there will be more than one manufacturing cell per department. Each cell is usually comprised of 3-12 people and 5-15 work workstations arranged within a compact environment.
Departments are organized by a product or narrow range of products. The ideal cell manufactures a small range of very similar products. All necessary equipment and resources are contained within each cell.
Material to be processed within the department sits in a initial queue prior to production. Once processing begins, materials flow from process to process within the cell. The benefits of cellular manufacturing are very fast throughput and improved communication between operators who work closely together. Quality and teamwork is enhanced because the cell has created a common goal.
