Lean Training for Manufacturing

  • Lean Manufacturing Training
    • Key Deliverables
      • Understand how a World Class Enterprise can profitably meet increasing customer expectations in a global economy.
      • Learn how lean manufacturing reduces total lead time, production time and costs while improving  the key service deliverables of products and service quality.
    • Training Highlights
      • Hands-on simulation that allows students to utilize their classroom training to improve quality and takt time.
      • Hands-on simulation provides the opportunity to implement lean concepts during four separate rounds of production.
      • Students will be introduced to Basics of Lean Manufacturing, Basics of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED), Manufacturing's Seven Deadly Wastes, 5S and Kanban.

 

  • Lean Job Shops Training
    • Key Deliverable
      • Introduction of Lean Manufacturing principles as they apply  to Job Shop Manufacturers.
    • Training Highlights
      • Students will understand how Lean principles apply to job shop production.

 

  • Value Stream Mapping
    • Key Deliverable
      • Students learn how to create a visual depiction of a process from receipt of product order to shipment to customer.  (Cradle to Grave)
    • Training Highlights
      • After a value stream map training presentation, students will create a current state value stream map of an existing product within their facility.
      • Utilizing the current state value stream map students will create Kaizen events based on opportunities revealed which have the lowest cost to implement and highest impact on production improvement.

 

  • Kaizen Training
    • Key Deliverables
      • Students will learn Sustainable Process Improvements utilizing Kaizen.
      • Students will learn how to apply Kaizen methods to correct inefficiencies identified during Value Stream Mapping.
    • Training Highlights
      • Utilizing the Value Stream Map created during Lean Value Stream Mapping training, students will organize a Kaizen team and facilitate process improvements.

 

  • Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) Training
    • Key Deliverable
      • Understand how a World Class Enterprise can  can reduce equipment changeover time and increase machine up-time.
    • Training Highlights
      • Hands-on simulation that allows students to utilize their classroom training to reduce the time required to re-tool machines during the change-over from one product to another.
