The existing layout was the product of equipment being acquired and placed where space was available.

Process flow and Lean Manufacturing principles were not considered.

This Re-Engineered layout was derived from Through Put Evaluation, Process Value Stream Mapping, and implementation of Cellular Manufacturing.

Equipment number 6 is a New acquisition. The Old number 6 was retired.

Equipment number 11 is a relocation from another department.

The new layout did not require any additional square footage.

Output was increased by 35% through the elimination of Non-Valued Added Steps.
